St Patrick's Day Celebration at the MIM
Saturday, March 17, 2012
12:00 pm
Are you a wee bit excited about St. Patrick's Day? Get a jump on the holiday TODAY with MIM's Celtic Celebration! Enjoy live Celtic music in the Main Courtyard from noon to 3 p.m. Then, a traditional Irish band entertains from 6 to 8:30 tonight. And did we mention the Café will be cooking up Irish specialties such as shepherd's pie, corned beef & cabbage, and sticky toffee pudding from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. from today till March 18? Erin go bragh!

Noon–3:00 p.m.

Tramor/Overseas is the new traditional music project of John Good, Brid Dower, Liz Warren, Billy Parker, and Greg “Sule” Wilson. The group brings the subtly different flavor of traditional Welsh music to the stage with bagpipes, flutes, whistles, mandolins, guitar, percussion, storytelling, and dance!

Also, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., a Celtic -inspired dish will be available for purchase in the MIM Cafe!

6:00- 8:30 p.m.

The celebration continues with Music in Motion featuring Trotters Wake, a five-piece acoustic Irish band, that breathes new life into traditional Irish music with their unique blend of vocals and lively mix of new and old Irish drinking songs, rebel songs, ballads, and traditional instrumental tunes. Their instrumentation includes acoustic guitar, mandolin, fiddle, electric bass, piano, bodhrבn (Irish hand drum), and keyboard.

Drink specials include the Emerald (Irish whiskey, vermouth, orange bitters, and orange peel), which may be purchased at $5.00 each. Guinness and Harp beers will be available at $3.00 each.
